“Nones” in Canada and U.S.

RNS reports “It’s easier to be a ‘none’ in Canada than in the US.” A forthcoming book by two sociologists says so. Both Canada and the U.S. have about 25% “nones.” But the authors claim that “nones” are stigmatized in the U.S., while the reverse is true in Canada. RNS omits all evidence, as well as any discussion of religious persecution of “nones,” though that is implicit. Many evangelicals openly state they would never vote for an agnostic, though they have no reservations about voting for a serial liar and adulterer who boasts about “grabbing pussy” and is a crook on the side.
